Biography. Crystal Love was founded by Dale Wilson in 1973. The members were gathered together at Roosevelt High School and began rehearsals in the winter of 1973. These original members were Dale Wilson, Ronald Nooks and William Shelby as vocals and the 3 piece band was Reggie “Moon” Morgan;Guitar, William McClain Bass, and Lonnie Ford ; Drums. The very first gig was at Central State Home coming with “Mandrill and Machine”. Dale Wilson left the group in 1974 and Ronald Nooks was the Leader until the disbandment. The Crystal Love group was opening act for Many Top acts throughout Dayton, the most unforgettable show was when the group opened at the Lakeview Palladium for the The Sylvers, holding their own to represent Dayton talent. After the Group broke up William Shelby moved to Los Angeles and soon became part of the writing team at Solar records with Leon Sylvers to produce many main stream hits for the Whispers, Shalamar, Dynasty, Lakeside and others. Ronald Nooks joined the Ohio Players and also is very active in production and writing. With various acts throughout Dayton and abroad. (information please)
