Island Park

The bandshell was one of the best venues in the Dayton area. Designed as an open air community concert venue, on Dayton’s north side, it became a favorite place for some summer funk. The unique acoustical properties afforded by the shell, meant that the music and singing would reverberate all over the island park, so that despite the hard physical structure of the seats, which was brutal on the butt, no seat was a bad seat.
